iOS
  1. 1

iPhone and iPad use the same portal

The iOS build follows the identical flow: install, read the device key off the screen, register it on the portal. Your TV registration and your iPad registration are separate devices.

Smart TV
  1. 1

Install from your TV's own store

Open the Samsung or LG app store on the television and search IBO Player. There is nothing to sideload and nothing to download on a computer.

  2. 2

Write down the MAC address and device key

Launch the app. It displays a MAC address and a device key on screen. Photograph the screen — you will be typing these into a web form and a mistyped character is the most common cause of a failed activation.

  3. 3

Register on the portal, from a phone or laptop

Go to the IBO activation portal in a normal browser, enter the MAC address and device key, and add your IPTV X Hub playlist URL from the activation email.

    http://your-server-url:port/get.php?username=USER&password=PASS&type=m3u_plus
  4. 4

Restart the app on the TV

Close IBO Player fully and reopen it. It fetches the configuration you just saved and the channel list appears. If it does not, the MAC address on the portal does not match the one on screen.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I find the MAC address IBO Player asks for?

On the app's own start screen, not in the TV settings.

Open IBO Player on the television. The MAC address and the device key are printed on the first screen it shows. Do not use the MAC address from the TV’s network settings menu — on some models the two differ, and registering the wrong one produces an app that never loads a playlist. Photograph the screen rather than transcribing it.

Is the activation fee a subscription?

No — one payment, one device, permanent.

IBO Player charges a single activation fee per device after the trial. It does not recur and it stays valid for that television. The fee goes to the IBO developer and is entirely separate from your IPTV X Hub plan; we do not collect it, cannot apply a discount to it and cannot refund it. If you replace the television, the new set needs its own activation.

How do I change or update my playlist?

On the portal in a browser, then restart the app.

Log in to the IBO portal from a phone or computer, edit the playlist entry for that device, and save. Then close IBO Player on the TV completely and reopen it — it reads the configuration at launch, so a running app will not notice the change. There is no way to edit the playlist from the television itself, which is deliberate.

Some channels are missing from the list. What happened?

Usually an M3U playlist that has not been refreshed.

IBO Player loads a playlist file rather than querying the account live, so a list generated before we added channels will not contain them. Restart the app to force a fresh fetch. If the channels are still absent, re-save the playlist URL on the portal — an old cached copy on the IBO side is the next most likely cause. Categories hidden by an adult filter are a separate matter and behave as configured.

The picture freezes on my Smart TV. What can I do?

Smart TV hardware is weak — wired network and fewer background apps.

Built-in TV processors are considerably slower than a dedicated streaming box, and they are the limiting factor far more often than the stream is. Connect the set by ethernet if you can, close other TV apps, and restart the television rather than just the app. If a channel still freezes on the TV but plays cleanly on a phone on the same network, the set is the bottleneck and an inexpensive Android TV stick will outperform it.

How do I update IBO Player?

Through the TV's app store, like any other TV app.

Updates come from the Samsung or LG store. Most sets apply them automatically; if yours does not, open the store and check the app’s page. Your activation survives an update — you do not re-register and you do not pay again. If an update ever does clear the configuration, re-saving the playlist on the portal restores it.

Is it safe to put my playlist URL on the IBO portal?

It carries your credentials, so treat it like a password.

An M3U playlist URL embeds your username and password in the address. That is how the format works, and it is why you should not paste it into forums, screenshots or support chats with third parties. Uploading it to the IBO portal is necessary for this activation model to function. If you ever suspect the URL has been exposed, ask us to rotate your credentials and re-save the new playlist on the portal.

Can I use IBO Player on two televisions?

Yes, but each TV is its own activation.

Every television has its own MAC address, so every television is a separate registration and a separate activation fee to the developer. Whether both can play at once depends on your IPTV X Hub plan rather than on IBO — a single-screen plan will cut the first stream when the second starts, regardless of how many devices are registered.

A different model: the TV does not log in, the portal does

Every other player on this site asks you to type a username and password into the app. IBO Player does not. The TV shows you a device ID and a MAC address, you enter those on the IBO web portal along with your playlist, and the TV pulls its configuration from the portal on every launch. This is the only workable route on a lot of Samsung Tizen and LG webOS sets, where sideloading is locked down.

What this means in practice

  • You will do the fiddly part on a phone or a laptop, not with the TV remote. That is a feature.
  • Changing your playlist later means editing it on the portal, not on the TV.
  • The registration is tied to that specific television. A second set is a second registration.

The one-time fee

IBO Player is free for a trial period and then charges a small one-off activation fee per device, paid to the developer. That is not part of your IPTV X Hub subscription and we cannot process, discount or refund it. Once paid, it does not recur — the activation stays with that television.

If the TV is a Samsung or LG made before roughly 2018

Older Tizen and webOS builds sometimes cannot install IBO Player at all. SmartOne IPTV works the same way and supports a slightly different set of models, so try it as plan B. If neither works, the reliable answer is a cheap Android TV stick and IPTV Smarters Pro, which sidesteps the TV’s software entirely.
